About The President

David Johnson is the President and Auctioneer (BSISE-MBF) of Greenwich Auction. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, he attended auctions and appreciated antique treasures from a young age.  After attending school in both Europe and the US, and living and working on three continents, he returned to his roots in Fairfield county. He and his wife are third generation Greenwich residents, and reside here with their three young children.

Greenwich Auction has provided the opportunity for Dave to bring his collections of unique items from European and Hudson River paintings, bronze sculptures, precious estate jewelry, crystal chandeliers, mid-century design furniture and decorative objects to the Fairfield and Westchester county areas. He and the auction team have represented items from the estates of Jacqueline Kennedy, Marjorie Post, and Jack Warner. The inventory continues to grow with exceptional pieces from estates in our immediate area: items of value, beauty and whimsy.

Helen L. A. Epley – Principal Cataloger & Auction Specialist

Beginning her career in Auction and the Arts at Sotheby's in the late 80's, Helen recently returned to the workplace after raising three children in Virginia and Connecticut. She graduated from St. Agnes School for Girls in Alexandria, VA, then the University of Georgia in Athens GA with a BFA, and then received a Master's in Fine & Decorative American Arts from the Sotheby's Institute in its first accredited year of conferring degrees through the New School in New York City. She immediately went to work at Sotheby's in New York City connecting with buyers, dealers and consignors as well as running the currency board at most auctions during her tenure there. She later managed the Andre Emmerich Gallery at 57th and 5th, planned events for George Trescher and his principal client Brooke Astor, as well as spending a year with the New York Public Library, executing its largest Literary Lions fund raising event of the 1990's. Helen is very happy (and lucky) to have stepped back into her auction career after years on playing field sidelines and PTA boards. She is an avid collector of antiques, figural silver, paintings, and Southern Folk art.
